-ent of Police, who is on leave in England, to ascertain

if he concurs in them.

I understand that the remittance

system has been abolished in the Indian Police Force of the

Straits Settlements. It still obtains in the Hongkong

and Singapore Battalion, Royal Artillery, in this Colony,

but it has not been extended to the Indian Line Regiments

serving here.
